Bon Secour is a behavioral health facility located Park Heights in Baltimore MD. For the last two years I have been painting murals and conducting art classes in an effort to create a less sterile environment for clients and staff. The mosaic was a piece created with the help of the clients at the facility, the idea being that they would have a piece of themselves embedded in the mural.
Mosaic with Clients
This was my first commission at Bon Secour Behavioral Health, which was a mosaic mural made up of tiles painted by the clients. It is located in the waiting room where clients wait to be seen.
Baltimore Youth Arts
I served as the Visual Arts Coordinator for two summers, in which I facilitated the design and creation of two outdoor murals with youth ages 14-21.
Was asked to design a flower mural for an outdoor space in a courtyard.
Group Room Mural
This mural was created in a group room at a Behavioral health facility.
Staff lunch room
This was created for the staff at a behavioral health facility, in an effort to brighten up their lunch/break room.
Group room mural
This mural contains three staff members at a behavioral health facility who work in outreach. They go to those who can not come to the facility and deliver them their meds and check on them. It is people like this that make Baltimore.
Bon Secour Mural in Hallway
This mural was started by a group of volunteers, in which they came and painted the hands that were previously arranged in a square. The square was problematic being that it was just in the middle of a very long hallway without anything leading into it. I changed it to a circle and bordered it with Fleur-de-lis, the flower used in the Bon Secour logo.
This mural is in the entrance where the staff enters and exits the facility. It was created using a few of the 7 values Bon Secour stands by, Justice, Stewardship, Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Quality, Innovation

Good Help mural at staff entrance
I was commissioned to create a mural that tells the story of Bon Secours, which means Good Help in French. The story of Bon Secours began with nuns from France who were recognized for providing excellent care to a wealthy family who had gotten sick while visiting France. The family was amazed at how well they took care of all people, and had them sent for while back in America. The nuns sailed over from France in early 1900's and started the first daycare, school and hospital in Baltimore MD that took care of all people who needed assistance.
The quote wall is made up of quotes that were provided to me by the clients and staff at Bon Secours Behavioral Health facility. The quote wall goes all the way through a hallway that the clients and staff walk through daily.
